WEST INDIAN GIRL
West Indian Girl took a year between
their debut record and the sophomore follow-up but they have
assured us that it will not be the case from now on. Their
current album, 4th and Wall, came out just about a
year ago, and the band is set to release a full remix of
that record and then an EP in the new year to test run some
new material.
THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES
This home-grown Seattle
band formed after the dissolve of notable bands Botch,
Nineironspitfire and Kill Sadie. October and November take
the band across the pond for a full European tour. The
Seattle based indie record label, Suicide Squeeze, will
release the bands next full length in October; right in the
middle of their European tour.
PAUL SCHEER (HUMAN GIANT)
You have seen him everywhere but you
might not know his name. Paul Scheer is a "do-everything"
type of comedian. Maybe you have seen him in VH1's Best
Week Ever or as the head page on NBC's 30 Rock or maybe you
caught him in the film School for Scoundrels or the incredible stupid Eddie
Murphy movie, Meet Dave, but chances are you have
seen him someplace. If you want to catch him today, just
flip on MTV and check out Human Giant. He is truly an indie
king of comedy.
RAVENS AND CHIMES
Hailing from the big apple, Raven
and Chimes are set to show that they are their own band not
just a comparison. Being compared to the likes of Arcade
Fire, Bright Eyes and Wolf Parade. That is quit an eclectic
mix of comparisons. They are just trying to balance life as
a touring band, and the everyday tasks of paying bills.
Combining melancholy vocals and beautiful haunting
instrumental arrangements, Ravens and Chimes are set to be
an indie sensation.
