Congratulation to the Italian team that won the World Cup 2006!

All Nations Cup 2006 kicks off in July

With the FIFA World Cup going on in Germany, Sister Communities has announced the Qualifiers Fixture Schedule for Seattle based, All Nations Cup 2006.

Even though the FIFA World Cup is nearly upon us, don't forget that All Nations Cup 2006, Seattle's own cross-cultural soccer tournament, is also right around the corner. Now entering its fourth year All Nations Cup is larger then ever, fielding the most teams in its history, expanding its Masters division, introducing a Woman's Regional Tournament and Youth Games. This year more then 37 different teams made up of Seattle's international communities, will represent more then 37 different countries on the field.

The Qualifying Weekend Festival, will begin on Friday, July 14th, at Tukwila's Starfire Sports Complex. That day, All Nations Cup will have an Opening Ceremony hosted by the Muckleshoot Tribe, followed by four simultaneous games, included the featured Mexico verses Guatemala game.

The Qualifiers will then continue on Saturday, July 15th, and Sunday, July 16th. Over three short days, 58 matches will be played, and the top four teams in each region will move to Finals Weekend, running July 21st to the 23rd. The top two teams in each region will then move into the Quarterfinals and Semifinals, July 25th-27th, culminating in Championship Game Day on July 29th.

But it's not just about soccer; between the matches All Nations Cup will host a diverse array of international performance as local communities display their culture through dance, music, demonstrations and more.

All Nations Cup's mission is to bring together the diverse community of the Seattle region using soccer as a common starting point. Creating a place for all communities to express their own culture as well as learning about others, giving all participants - players, spectators, volunteers - a chance to recognize our common humanity.
